Hi, I am Laurynn and I am a Registered Psychotherapist. At the heart of my work is the belief that within each of us exists a wealth of wisdom and inner knowing. When we learn how to access it, we move toward deeper alignment with our identity, sense of meaning, self-concept, and definition of success.
I show up with authenticity, passion, and a genuine openness to each person’s experience. It is a privilege to walk alongside teens, emerging adults, and adults from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
I specialize in neurodivergent-affirming care, supporting clients in understanding their symptoms and coping patterns as adaptations that may have developed to help them navigate their experiences in the world. Together, we can explore strategies that once offered protection, while gently building new ways of relating to yourself and others that feel more authentic, sustainable, and aligned with who you are, honouring your unique way of being.
In our work together, I aim to create a space that feels grounded in empathy, safety, and collaboration. A place where you can show up fully as you are.
My approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and integrative. I tailor therapy to each individual's needs and preferences, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems, somatic psychotherapy, systemic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Gestalt therapy, narrative therapy, DBT, and CBT.
My Approach To Couples Therapy
As someone diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I understand how a late diagnosis can invite us to redraft the manual for connection. The ways we’ve learned to communicate, show love, manage conflict, and feel close may have been shaped by expectations that didn’t account for our neurodivergent ways of experiencing the world. Sometimes, creating a more connected relationship means letting go of the old instructions and becoming curious about what actually works for the two of you.
At the heart of intimacy is the desire to feel known, understood, and accepted by the person we love. When our attempts to connect are missed or misunderstood, it can leave us questioning ourselves: Why didn’t they understand what I meant? What did I do wrong? Why does this feel so hard?
When the person we most want to connect with doesn’t seem to understand our needs, intentions, or ways of communicating, the distance can feel painful and overwhelming.
Couples therapy can offer a space to slow down those moments of disconnect, make sense of what is happening beneath them, and begin finding new ways of reaching for one another. Rather than asking either partner to simply “try harder,” we can become curious about the patterns between you, and what each of you may be needing, protecting, or trying to communicate.
Safety isn’t created by always getting it right. It grows in the moments when you miss each other, find your way back, and experience that even in the midst of disconnect, you can still choose one another.
